①有好多人喜欢讲生活品质,他们认为花的钱多、花得起钱就是有生活品质了。于是,有愈来愈多的人,在吃饭时一掷万金,在置衣时一掷万金,拼命地挥霍金钱;当我们问他为什么要如此,他的答案是理直气壮的——“为了追求生活品质!为了讲究生活品质!”

②生活?品质?这两样东西到 底意味着什么呢?生活品质是一种求好的精神,是在一个有限的条件下寻求该条件最好的风格与方式,这才是生活品质。

③工匠把一张桌子椅子做到最完美而无懈可击的地步,是生活品质;农夫把稻田中的稻子种成最好的收成,是生活品质。穷人买一个馒头果腹,知道同样的五块钱在何处可以买到最好品质的馒头,是生活品质;家庭主妇买一块豆腐,花最便宜的钱买到最好吃的豆腐,是生活品质。
